Murat's Mom is Not Dead?

At the end of episode 17, we finally saw Murat read the letter that his step-mother had sent to him in a moment of anger. The letter is addressed to Azime, Murat's grandmother, and in the clip below we see that it is from Leyla, Murat's mother. Scroll down to read the translated letter!

(Murat reads the letter to himself)

(Murat’s Mother) Leyla: Mrs. Azime, I wanted to leave without a sound, without leaving a mark behind me. However, I can’t do this while the pain of leaving my son behind is in my heart. I know you will hate me and never forgive me. You and also, Necat. I couldn’t want you to anyway. My only request to you is that you don’t tell Murat that his mother is a ruthless woman that left him for her dreams.

Murat: Mom…

Leyla: My absence will be hard enough for my child. I want Murat to remember me as the mermaid in the stories I would tell him. The mermaid who sacrificed her voice for her dreams but in the end, vanishes into nothing. Tell him I died, let him not think of me badly.
